My freezer is full of those pre-made meal kits I swore would save me time

I realized I've spent over $200 on them in the last three months, but I still spend 30 minutes just heating everything up. Has anyone found a better shortcut that's actually fast?

Finally got a handle on the torque spec for those new Honeywell connector backshells

I kept seeing people at our hangar in Tulsa over-tighten them, which can crush the internal seals and cause moisture issues down the line. The manual clearly states 18 inch-pounds, but folks were just cranking them down with a regular screwdriver. I started using a calibrated torque wrench after a plane came back with an intermittent fault traced to a corroded pin in one of those connectors. Anyone else run into this, or have a good trick for getting the crew to actually check the manual first?

PSA: My old iPod Classic's hard drive just gave up the ghost

I spent three evenings trying to get it to spin up again, only to find out the 1.8-inch drive is basically a lost cause now. Anyone know a good spot to get a compact flash conversion kit that doesn't cost a fortune?

A chat with my sister about learning to code really got me thinking

I was telling my sister, who's a teacher, about my plan to learn Python. I said I was going to start with a big, thick book I bought, because I wanted to learn the 'right' way from the ground up. She just looked at me and said, 'Charlie, you learn to swim by getting in the water, not by reading a book about water molecules.' That hit different. I realized I was putting up a huge barrier for myself before I'd even written a single line of code. She argued that beginners should just pick a small project, like a number guessing game, and figure it out with help from online guides, even if the code is messy. I always thought you needed a perfect foundation first. Now I'm torn between the 'learn by doing' method and the 'learn the theory first' approach. Which way actually works better for a total newbie who might get frustrated and quit?
