My neighbor showed me her trick for using frozen veggies in stir fry and I haven't gone back

Last Tuesday I ran into Carol from two doors down at the mailbox and she mentioned she makes stir fry twice a week because she found a way to make frozen broccoli actually crispy. She throws the frozen florets straight into a dry hot pan no oil for about 2 minutes until the ice steams off. Then she adds oil and cooks them like normal. I tried it that same night with a bag of frozen stir fry mix from Aldi and it actually worked. No more soggy veggies. Has anyone else found a hack for making frozen vegetables taste fresh?

Oh wow, so you're telling me I've been defrosting frozen veggies like a total chump for years? That's a relief because my stir fry game was basically "mushy sadness in a bowl." I tried her trick last night with a bag of frozen peppers and onions and they actually had some crunch to them, not the usual limp disaster. Now I just need a hack for not burning the garlic while I'm patting myself on the back for the veggie success.

@benwilliams Yeah, just add the garlic last minute and stop high-fiving yourself over veggies that aren't mush.
