Overheard a mom at the grocery store say she just makes the same three meals on rotation

She was telling her friend she cooks spaghetti, chicken stir fry, and sheet pan sausages with peppers every single week. It made me realize I was making dinner way too hard trying something new all the time. I picked one of those, the sheet pan meal, and have done it every Tuesday for a month now. It takes 25 minutes from fridge to table and my family actually loves the routine. Has anyone else found peace in just repeating a few simple dinners instead of hunting for new recipes?

Only three meals for a whole week?

That "fridge to table in 25 minutes" part is the real dream. Do you ever get sick of eating the same thing, or does the saved time and stress totally make up for it? I feel like I'd need at least one wild card meal a week to break it up.

Honestly I used to think the same way, that I'd get totally bored. But after a few months of doing this, the saved time is such a huge relief that I don't mind the repeats. It's like my brain just checks out of the "what's for dinner" stress loop. I do keep one meal flexible for leftovers or a frozen pizza, which helps. The routine ends up feeling freeing, not boring.
