Traded my old carpet for that click-lock laminate last month

I had to pick between cheap carpet from Rona or that mid-grade laminate from Home Depot after my basement flood. Went with the laminate at $3.50 a square foot and honestly it's held up way better than I expected through two kids and a dog. My neighbor Bill said I'd regret it but he's still vacuuming pet hair off his Berber every weekend. Anyone else make the switch and find it worth the extra cash?

...and honestly I went with the same thing after my flood, but I've got three cats now and I'm pretty sure one of them thinks the click-lock is a scratching post. Found that out the hard way when I saw little claw marks on a corner piece. Still beats scrubbing cat puke out of carpet though, that's for sure.

You said you had to pick between cheap carpet and mid-grade laminate, and honestly that's exactly the spot I was in after my own basement flood. I went with the laminate too and it's been a lifesaver with my two dogs and all the mud they track in.
