A master electrician told me to stop using torpedo levels for panel work
He was wiring a 400 amp service in a crawl space in Austin and said my bubble level was only good for hanging pictures, then showed me his digital angle finder with a magnet. It hit different because he measured the racking on my last panel install in under 30 seconds and found a 2 degree tilt I never caught. Anyone else ditch bubble levels for digital ones after a similar spot check?

...and honestly that 2 degree tilt would've been my whole personality until someone pointed it out, I'm still not over it. My torpedo level is now strictly for checking if my fridge is gonna roll away or something. I bought one of those digital angle finders after that and now I'm that guy who levels his toolbox before he levels the panel, it's become a whole problem. But hey, at least when I inevitably mess up again it'll be with confidence and a fancy beep.
