My neighbor said his new phone was 'too thin to fix' after a screen crack
He brought his phone to a mall kiosk and they turned him away, said the parts weren't worth the labor. That got me thinking about all the modern gear we're told is disposable. I've fixed three Galaxy S24 Ultras this month, so it's clearly doable. Are other shops seeing more 'unrepairable' devices from big box stores?

That "parts weren't worth the labor" line is the whole business model now... they'd rather sell a new one than fix the old. I see it all the time with those mall kiosks, they only want the easy battery swaps. The real problem is manufacturers making things hard to open on purpose, so even a simple screen crack becomes a huge job. It's not that the phone is too thin, it's that they don't want to train anyone or stock the parts.

My buddy's phone repair turned into a whole thing... rowanbennett is right about that.
