Drove past Level 3's old PoP in Fresno, whole block is dark now
Stopped for gas near the old building on Shaw Ave and noticed the generator yard is totally silent, no hum at all. That used to be a major hub for central valley peering, so is a silent PoP just normal decommissioning or should carriers be worried about redundancy in that region?

Different read on that. Silent generators just mean the backup power is off, which is normal when the site's been taken offline. Carriers usually pull the plug quietly to avoid drawing attention to the re-routing, not because they're scrambling. Fresno redundancy has been thin for years, this isn't new news.
