Appreciation post: That facial oil I almost threw out actually saved my skin

I grabbed this old bottle of rosehip oil from the back of my fridge last week, expecting nothing, and my acne scars are way lighter after just 7 days. Has anyone else had a product surprise them like this or am I the only one who almost trashed a good thing?

Oh same here, I found an old bottle of jojoba oil and it cleared up my hormonal breakouts way better than my expensive stuff.

Funny how the cheapest stuff ends up working the best sometimes. That whole "natural oils confuse your skin" thing never made sense to me when you look at how people used simple ingredients for centuries without all these acids and retinols. My mom swears by plain coconut oil for everything and here I am spending $60 on serums that do the same thing. It's like we've been trained to think complicated means better but our skin just wants... normal stuff.

The rosehip oil I found at TJ Maxx for like $6 has done more for my dark spots than anything from Sephora ever did. I mean it's wild how simple stuff can just work better sometimes.
