I found out most facials are using the wrong water temperature for extractions

I was watching a continuing ed video from a derm in Chicago last night and she dropped a stat that blew my mind. She said over 70% of estheticians use water that's too warm when doing extractions, which actually makes pores constrict instead of open. I've been doing it wrong for like 5 years. The sweet spot is around 98-100F, not the steaming hot water I was using. Has anyone else heard this or am I just late to the party?

Over 70% of estheticians" seems like a made up stat honestly. I've seen plenty of good results with hotter water and my clients have never complained. Plus, how many derms are actually watching estheticians do their thing to gather that data? I'm not saying she's wrong about the ideal temp but I doubt most people are wrecking their facials over 5 degrees.

Huh, people really overthink this stuff like we're doing brain surgery.

Dropped to 99F and saw way less redness after.
