My sister told me she stopped using physical exfoliants on her clients a year ago
We were having coffee last week and she said, 'I realized I was just creating micro-tears and making their barrier worse, not better.' She's an esthetician over in Springfield. It hit me because I've been pushing those gritty scrubs for years, telling clients it's the only way to get really clean. I looked at my own kit and saw three different physical exfoliants I use regularly. I tried her method on a client with rosacea yesterday, just a gentle enzyme peel instead, and the redness after was way less than usual. It made me question a lot of my basic training. How many of you have switched over to mostly chemical exfoliation now?

Yeah, a year sounds crazy, right? My buddy's sister was in the same boat, kept going way longer than anyone expected. She said the habit just got tied to her whole daily routine, like making coffee. Took a big life shake up for her to finally drop it. Makes you wonder what finally clicks for someone to stop.
