inPro tip: a cheap plastic bowl from the dollar store saved my color mixing
Yeah, the "lot of plastic going straight in the trash" part really hits home. Even rinsing them uses a ton of water over time, which is its own kind of waste. It makes you wonder if the real pro tip is finding a reusable system that's just as fast, like those silicone mats you mentioned. The goal is saving time without creating a bigger mess for the planet, you know?

inOverheard a guy at the supply house say he stopped using zip ties for drop lines
Yeah, my buddy had that exact thing happen last year. A zip tie he used on a service drop got baked in the sun for a couple summers, snapped clean, and the line whipped down and took out a chunk of his gutter. Total mess. He's been using those heavy duty velcro straps ever since and hasn't had a problem. Makes sense, the plastic just can't handle the weather after a while.

inQuestion about tracking every single dollar spent
Yeah, tracking every dollar really opens your eyes, like @xena_fisher49 said.

inShoutout to the old timer who told me to use a zip tie to find a vacuum leak on a 7.3 Powerstroke
That zip tie trick is a lifesaver. I've used a cigarette once to find a leak on an old Cummins.

inAppreciation post: My old boss in Phoenix always said to mix mud for a full 5 minutes, but I tried just 2 minutes on a small patch last month and the finish was way smoother.
So you think that extra minute is the sweet spot? I mean, maybe that's why @wyatt148 gets less bubbles with warm water, it just blends faster to that perfect smooth point.
