Warning: My stubborn love for gritty scrubs backfired on a client's skin

Back when I first started, everyone in the shop used those rough physical scrubs. I thought they were the best way to get rid of dead skin fast. Then I saw a regular client's face under good light and noticed tiny cuts and constant redness. I slowly moved her to chemical exfoliants and her skin got so much healthier. Now I feel silly for not changing my mind sooner.

Lost a fight with a cheese grater" is the perfect way to put it. I've seen people treat their faces like a dirty pan that needs scouring. They'd rub so hard, expecting baby skin, and just get a raw, shiny mess instead. It's like they're trying to sand off their whole face layer by layer. Switching to the gentle stuff isn't giving up, it's just being smart.

Ah, the classic 'scrub it till it shines' approach. Nothing says skincare like micro-tears and redness. I bet that client looked like they lost a fight with a cheese grater. Good thing you saw the light before someone needed stitches. Chemical exfoliants are the quiet heroes here.

Seriously, watching someone go at their face with an apricot scrub is pure horror. My old roommate used to sand her skin raw and wondered why it was always angry and red. Gentle acids just work better without the damage.
