Thirty bucks for a smart plug finally fixed my coffee chaos
I kept running late because I'd forget to turn on the coffee maker before hopping in the shower. Picked up a WiFi smart plug for about $30 last month and set a timer for 6:45am. Now the pot starts brewing while I'm still half asleep, and I actually walk out the door on time. The setup took maybe 10 minutes with the app, no extra hub needed. My only gripe is the plug is bulky and takes up two outlets on the strip. Anyone else use these for other dumb appliances, or is there a cheaper brand that's less chunky?

Wait, is your coffee maker one of those ones that needs the switch flipped to "on" before the plug timer even matters? I had that exact same problem, ha. The bulky plug thing is real though, mine blocks the neighbor outlet too, which is super annoying when you need to charge something. I've been using a dumb slow cooker with mine for Sunday chili, just set it and forget it while I'm out running errands. Honestly, the $30 is worth it just for the peace of mind, even if the thing looks like a brick glued to the wall.
