Found a 1970s church cookbook at a yard sale in Boise with a wild recipe
I was digging through a box of old books and found a stained copy of 'St. Luke's Lutheran Potluck Favorites'. Flipped it open and there's a recipe for 'Tuna Jello Salad' that calls for a whole box of lime jello, two cans of tuna, and a cup of mayonnaise. The instructions just say 'mix and chill until firm'. Has anyone else's family actually made something like this, or was my grandma the only brave soul?

Remember that time at the cookout where someone brought a whole tray of those? My friend's dad tried one and his face just went blank. He chewed slowly, then quietly put the rest on a napkin and fed it to their dog under the table. The dog spit it out too. We found like three of them hidden in the potted plants later.

Hold up. That tuna jello salad is actually genius. Think about it. Lime jello gives you that tang. Tuna brings the protein. Mayo makes it creamy. It's basically a savory custard. People get weird about it cause it's jello, but it's no different than a salmon mousse or something fancy. My buddy's grandma made it every Easter and we'd fight over it.
