I finally stopped using store bought patterns and started drafting my own skirts
Last year I got tired of trying to adjust big 4 patterns that never fit my waist to hip ratio right. I took a local community college drafting class in March and learned how to take my own measurements and make a basic sloper. Now I can sketch a skirt design on Monday and have a finished piece by Friday without any fitting headaches. Has anyone else tried self drafting and found it way easier than they thought?

Yeah because who has time for muslin when you can just wing it and cry later?

The skirt sloper tutorial from Threads magazine issue 187 got me through my first try. One thing though, a sloper is supposed to be made from muslin not your fashion fabric. If you skipped that test garment you might find the fit is off in the long run.
