Honestly, the number of guys I see not checking for buried lines before they dig a post hole is wild.

Tbh, a crew down the street hit a fiber optic line last month and the whole block lost internet for a day. How do you even start a job without calling 811 first? Anyone else have a local utility story that makes you cringe?

Wait, how does that even happen? Did he think he could fix it himself or was it a total accident? Cutting a live power line is insanely dangerous, like house-fire or worse dangerous. I need the full story because that sounds like a legendary bad decision.

I read somewhere that even pros use rubber gloves and testers before touching anything. @kai602 sounds like your neighbor read a YouTube tutorial and thought "how hard can it be." Hope he's okay and didn't take the whole block with him.
