Wind took out 80 feet of brand new panel fencing after three months because we used standard posts instead of drilling for the 6 inch auger bits and setting them in real concrete mix.

Four winters in the Sierra Nevada changed my whole view. Used to think granite was granite, solid and predictable. Then I watched a whole retaining wall buckle after one bad freeze season. Ground heave under the rock is no joke.
