I used to think a 3% savings account was pointless, but putting $100 a month in for a year actually added up

Remember when a bank tried to give me a toaster for opening a savings account? I thought, great, I can burn some toast while my money does nothing. Then I tried your trick with a tiny automatic transfer. Watching that little number get a tiny bit bigger each month felt like a magic trick I finally understood.

You know what changed for me? I used to think saving was pointless unless you had big chunks to put away. But last year I started moving just ten bucks to savings every Friday. It felt silly at first, like what's ten bucks? But after a few months, I had over five hundred just sitting there without even noticing it was gone. That tiny habit built up a real buffer for car repairs. Now I get why small steps actually work.

Right, @blakecampbell, those tiny automatic transfers are the real toaster.
