Took me 3 weekends to fix a leaking shower valve that should have been a 2 hour job
I pulled apart my bathroom faucet in Toledo last month thinking it was just a worn out rubber washer. Turned out the whole cartridge was fused in from hard water buildup and I ended up having to cut the brass fitting out with a mini hacksaw. Has anyone else had a simple fix turn into a nightmare because of hidden corrosion?

Ever get a brake line fitting to snap off flush on a 15 year old truck in February? That was me last winter. Thought I'd swap out a rusty line in an hour, ended up dropping the whole fuel tank and fabricating a new section from scratch because the hard line had fused to the frame rail. At least with plumbing you don't need a torch to get the line nuts loose, but when they do snap you're rolling under the truck in the salt and slush.

And of course the hardware store was out of the double flare tool too.
