A homeowner in Boise told me my quarter-round looked 'like a kid drew it'

I was rushing the cuts and not coping the corners. Now I always take the extra five minutes to cope them properly, even if the client says they don't mind. Anyone else get a comment that made you slow down on a detail?

Ngl I kinda see it the opposite way. That comment would just make me laugh and move on cause not every job needs to be some perfect museum piece. Sometimes you gotta balance speed with the actual scope of the project and if the client says they don't care then why overthink it. The real lesson there is maybe pick your battles with detail work instead of slowing down on everything. A coping joint is nice but it's not the end of the world if it's a quick quarter-round in a rental flipping house.

That "like a kid drew it" comment would stick with me too. Funny how one harsh critique can make you realize rushing never pays off.
