Blew $400 on a laser level that barely works on bright days

I grabbed a Bosch GLL100-40G last month for a big job at a warehouse in Portland. Thought it would save me time, but the laser is almost invisible in anything but dim light. Has anyone else had trouble with green lasers outdoors? I’m wondering if I should just stick with a chalk line for this kind of work.

Heard a buddy say his green laser was useless in daylight too, total waste of money.

Man, that's the thing with a lot of gear these days. People get sold on specs and forget real world conditions actually matter. @thomas_johnson your buddy is right honestly. I've seen so many guys buy expensive lasers for hunting or target shooting and then act surprised when the sun is up and they can't see a thing. It's like buying a flashlight and expecting it to be bright at noon. Same pattern with phone cameras too everyone talks about megapixels but nobody mentions how awful low light performance is until you're stuck taking blurry pictures. People gotta learn that shiny marketing doesn't replace actual testing.
