Appreciation post: My delivery van died on the way to a big wedding in Portland

So last Saturday, I'm about 20 minutes from the venue with a van full of centerpieces and the arch piece, and my van just quits on the side of the highway. Total panic. I called my one helper who was already at the venue setting up, and we had to think fast. I ended up calling a local flower shop I know from trade shows, 'Blossom and Vine', and they were amazing. They sent their delivery guy out with his truck, we transferred everything super carefully, and he even helped me unload. We got it all set up with maybe 10 minutes to spare before the bride arrived. I was so stressed I almost cried. Has anyone else had to make a last minute rescue call like that? What's your backup plan for vehicle trouble?

Man, that's a rough situation but honestly... I'm surprised you didn't have a backup plan already. Relying on a random shop is a huge gamble. What if they'd said no? You're really lucky it worked out, but counting on luck isn't a business plan. You need your own backup vehicle or a formal agreement with another service, not just a hope and a prayer.
