My shop's hydrangea sales went from 3 bunches a week to 30 after I started dunking them in cold water for an hour before arranging.

Used to just cut and put them straight in the cooler, but the wilting was brutal. Anyone else have a simple trick that completely flipped a flower's performance?

Always thought hydrangeas were just finicky by nature. The cold water dunk is a game changer, makes the stems drink like they're in a desert. My own last much longer now, no more sad drooping after a day on the counter.

Watched my neighbor nearly give up on hydrangeas from her garden. She'd bring them inside and they'd wilt by dinner. Then she tried that cold water trick, filling the whole sink. Those blooms perked up in an hour and looked fresh for over a week. She was so shocked she texted me a picture every single day.

Honestly I used to be the person who killed hydrangeas in like six hours flat. I'd put them in a vase and they'd just give up on life. After reading @the_miles's tip I felt so dumb. I tried the cold water thing last week, like really cold from the tap, and it was wild. They went from looking dead to totally fine overnight, and they actually lasted. Guess I'm not a plant murderer anymore, lol.
