That fancy floral foam alternative I tried was a total dud
I dropped $80 on a block of that new biodegradable foam alternative from a supplier in Portland. It said it held stems better than the old stuff, but my hydrangeas drooped within 4 hours. Anyone else had bad luck with these new foams or is it just me?

Worked great for my roses, sounds like a technique issue.

Idk, "technique issue" just feels like a cop out to me. I followed every step to the letter and my soil turned into a brick, so maybe it's just not a one size fits all thing.
