Burned $600 on a gourmet fusion food truck setup that died after one festival because I didn't check the generator was rebuilt junk.
Spent three months prepping a menu and customizing that trailer, only to have the engine seize mid-service at the Austin Ribfest, and now I'm begging the local taco cart guys for advice on what to buy next.

Engine seized mid-service" - that "rebuilt" generator got you good. I'd look for a contractor-grade Honda or Yamaha inverter setup on Facebook Marketplace, just make sure you hear it run cold before you hand over cash.

Man, my buddy dropped $800 on a "certified refurb" welder that died by lunch at his first gig.
