That one guy who taught me how to fold a breakfast burrito at his cart

Back in 2018 at the farmer's market in Portland, this older fella running a taco cart showed me his trick of tucking the ends first and rolling tight so nothing falls out, and I still think about that little gesture every time I wrap up a batch for my own truck.

Man, isn’t it wild how a total stranger can drop some simple wisdom like that and it just sticks with you forever? I had a guy at a gas station in Arizona show me his trick for keeping tamales moist in a cooler, and I’ve used it every single summer since.

Totally, it's like the universe just drops these little life hacks at the most random moments. You start noticing how the best advice never comes from a book or a class, it's always from some guy in a parking lot or a lady at the bus stop. Like, there's this whole underground network of practical wisdom floating around out there, and you just have to be paying attention to catch it. It makes you realize every single person you meet is probably carrying one or two things they could teach you, if you're willing to ask.
