I finally figured out why my old Game Boy Camera pictures looked so bad

For months, I thought my Game Boy Camera was just low quality. Then my friend Mike pointed out I was using the wrong kind of light. He said, 'You need bright, direct light, not a lamp in a dark room.' I tried taking a picture outside at noon and the difference was huge. Has anyone else found tricks to get better images from these old digital cameras?

Oh man, that reminds me of my buddy Chris. He was so mad his Game Boy Printer photos were just solid black squares. Turns out he was trying to take a picture of his black cat, in a dim hallway, at night. The camera just saw a dark blob and gave up. He moved the cat near a sunny window and it actually worked, you could see the grumpy little face. It's crazy how much those old things depend on perfect light.

Yeah those old cameras needed so much light lol. I always had to take my Game Boy shots outside in full sun to get anything.
