I used to think the old iPod click wheel was just a gimmick

Honestly, I was wrong. I found my old 4th gen Nano in a box last month and the tactile scrolling through a huge library is still way faster than any touchscreen menu I've used. Anyone else have a gadget they wrote off that actually worked better?

Found my old Blackberry a while back and that physical keyboard was a game changer for typing long emails. Could do it without looking at the screen, something I miss with every smartphone. Felt like a gimmick until you actually had to use it for real work. Some of those old designs just got the job done in a way touchscreens still can't match.

Remember how we all made fun of people who still used Blackberries? I was one of those snobs. Then I tried to type a full report on a touchscreen during a bumpy bus ride and my message looked like a cat walked on the screen. That little keyboard knew what it was doing. What's the worst typo you've sent because of a touchscreen?

Wait, you could type on a Blackberry without looking? I had a Curve for years and I still had to glance down to find the keys. Maybe it's just me, but I never got that good with it. The click wheel thing is totally true though, nothing beats spinning through albums that fast.
