Rant: The old foreman at the Trenton plant told me to 'just pour it hotter' when I flagged a cold shut.
I argued the mold temp was the real issue, and he just walked off. Anyone else run into guys who think heat fixes every flow problem?

Oh man, that's the classic move right there. I had a lead guy who would just crank the heat for every single surface blemish. We ended up burning through nozzles and degrading the material because he refused to look at the pack pressure profile. It's like their one trick and they won't even consider the process sheet.

Sounds like you had to deal with a real stubborn one. That approach just costs so much money in wasted parts and downtime. It's crazy how some people get stuck on a single fix and ignore all the other tools. Watching good material get cooked because someone won't check a simple profile is painful. You end up fighting the person instead of the problem.
