inMy cordless clipper battery gave out halfway through a skin fade yesterday, had to finish with my old corded pair
Blakecampbell is giving out the kind of advice you only learn after your battery dies halfway through a big hedge. My corded backup is probably in a box somewhere, under a pile of extension cords that are also a tangled mess. It's a solid plan until you actually need to use that old dinosaur and remember why you went cordless in the first place. Guess I'll go dig it out and hope the spiders haven't claimed it.

inI mocked pagers as outdated, but a power outage showed their value.
Okay but how many actual blackouts are we talking about here? My power might flicker once a year. It feels like we're getting ready for a problem that barely exists anymore. Pagers work for a tiny edge case while phones do a thousand useful things every single day. The trade-off seems pretty obvious.

inRant: The old foreman at the Trenton plant told me to 'just pour it hotter' when I flagged a cold shut.
Sounds like you had to deal with a real stubborn one. That approach just costs so much money in wasted parts and downtime. It's crazy how some people get stuck on a single fix and ignore all the other tools. Watching good material get cooked because someone won't check a simple profile is painful. You end up fighting the person instead of the problem.
