My local market has a new rush on bulk rice and spices lately.
Mixing your own spice blends is way cheaper than buying the premade jars.

Totally get it! I used to think making everything from scratch was the only right way. But last week I tried a good quality store bought sauce and it saved me so much time. The flavor was actually great, and I could focus on the main dish. It made the whole cooking process way less stressful. Sometimes the extra few bucks is worth getting your evening back, you know?
