Hot take: I thought those 'wipe-on' poly finishes were just for beginners

I mean, I always used the brush-on stuff for a thicker coat, thinking wipe-on was a shortcut. But I tried the Minwax wipe-on poly on a small walnut table last month, and after three coats, the build was perfect with zero brush marks. It's way easier to control and dries faster in my humid garage. Anyone else switch over and find it actually holds up?

Guess I'm a proud beginner then (works great).

Remember my friend who refused to ask for help with his new grill? He spent weeks making dry burgers, calling them "rustic." Finally watched a five minute video and his next cookout was a total game changer. Sometimes just owning the beginner phase is the fastest way to get good results.
