Back when phone batteries actually lasted a weekend trip

I remember 10 years ago I could take my old Nokia on a camping trip to Moab and not even think about charging it for 3 days. Now my smartphone barely makes it through a single day of normal use even with a fresh battery. Do you all just carry power banks everywhere or did we lose something important when screens got bigger?

So you're saying we traded battery life for bigger screens and never looked back, right?

Disagree a little actually. Those old phones were basically bricks, you couldn't do anything with them except call and text (which is fine but not the same). I'd rather carry a small power bank and have a device that actually does stuff.
