Pro tip: I found out my old phone battery was way more dangerous than I thought

I was watching a teardown review of my old Galaxy S7 on YouTube last night, and the guy mentioned that after about 500 full charge cycles, the battery's internal resistance can spike. He said it can actually make the phone heat up a lot more during normal use, which I never knew. My phone got super hot just scrolling through Instagram last week, so that totally clicked. Has anyone else had an old gadget start acting weird and found out it was a battery thing? I'm kinda scared to keep using it as a backup now, lol.

Wait, but isn't that just normal old battery stuff? My old phone got warm too but it never seemed dangerous, just slower.

Totally, my old laptop battery did the same thing. It would get hot enough to warm my lap, and the charge just vanished. You could watch the percentage drop if you tried to do two things at once. It was more of a sad, slow death than anything scary.
