Epoxy vs tiles in my garage, and tile won by a mile

I did epoxy in my first garage in Austin last year and it looked great for about 6 months. Then the hot tires started peeling it up and it got these nasty white spots from where I dropped a can of paint. This time around I used those interlocking garage tiles from Costco, about $350 for my 2-car space, and after dropping a wrench and a full oil jug on them they still look brand new. Has anyone else switched from epoxy to tiles and had a better experience?

Oh man, I think the real hidden issue nobody is talking about is how epoxy traps heat way worse than tiles. I had epoxy in my last garage and during the summer that floor would get so hot it felt like walking on a griddle. The tiles actually let air flow under them a bit so they stay way cooler. Plus if a tile ever does get damaged you just pop a new one in instead of having to grind down and recoat the whole damn floor again. That repairability factor is something people don't think about until something goes wrong. Tbh I think epoxy is still good for show cars in a climate controlled space but for a real working garage tiles are just more practical long term.

Those white spots are definitely from moisture getting trapped under epoxy.
