The old pegboard in my garage finally gave up after fifteen years

I was hanging a new garden hose reel last week when the whole section just pulled away from the wall. It turned out the drywall anchors had slowly rusted away. Has anyone else had to replace their whole wall system because of something like that?

That rust problem is why I switched to plastic anchors for everything in my garage.

Plastic anchors are a total game changer for this exact reason. I learned the hard way with a heavy tool rack that came crashing down. The metal ones just can't handle the damp air in a garage over time. Now I use the heavy duty plastic ones for anything that needs to hold real weight. They don't cost much more and they just last. You won't have to redo the whole wall again in another ten years.
