So I bought a fancy 'smart' trash can that opens with a wave of your hand

It cost $120 and broke after maybe three months, just stopped sensing anything. Anyone know a good, normal trash can that actually lasts?

Wasn't there a whole article about how these sensor lids fail because of kitchen grease messing with the electronics? I read that a while back. Honestly, I just use a basic stainless steel can with a step pedal now. The simple ones seem to last forever.

Noticed that pattern with fancy versions of simple things... they always break sooner.
