Used a fixed blade for deer cleaning last weekend against my usual folder

I've always been a folder guy for field dressing, swore by my old Buck 110 for 10 years. But my buddy handed me a Mora Companion last Saturday and I got through a whole buck without stopping to wipe the hinge clean once. Anyone else switch tools and find out their old way was actually worse?

It's funny how we get stuck in our ways with stuff like knives or tools, thinking the old way is the best way. I did the same thing with kitchen knives last year. Used a paring knife for everything for years, then tried a proper chef's knife and wondered why I was making life so hard. Seems like every time I try something new in the garage or around the house, I end up finding a better way I shoulda tried years ago... it's like we just get comfortable and stop looking for improvements until something shoves it in our face.
