Am I the only one who used a cheap pickle jar as a makeshift color frit holder?

Ran out of my usual containers mid-session and grabbed an empty one from the recycling, it worked perfectly for keeping my frits separate and dry. Anyone have other weird household items they've repurposed in the studio?

Strongly disagree with using food containers for studio work. That pickle jar still has vinegar and bacteria in its pores no matter how well you wash it, which will ruin your frits over time. You're introducing contaminants and moisture into materials that need to stay perfectly dry. It seems clever in a pinch but it's a shortcut that will cost you more in wasted supplies later. Just buy the right airtight containers, they're cheap and meant for the job.

Come on, that's just fear mongering. A good run through the dishwasher kills everything. I've stored frit in a washed out jam jar for two years with zero issues. If you're that worried, a quick bake in the oven dries it out for good. Not everyone has a art store nearby or wants to buy more plastic junk.

But does it actually ruin them in real life though.
