Appreciation post: My old $300 glory hole upgrade
I spent that money on a new burner and door assembly about ten years ago, and it completely changed my work flow. The old one was so inefficient I'd lose heat just opening it... anyone else still using an older setup they've slowly improved?

Ever feel like your gear is held together by duct tape and hope? My old setup was so bad I was basically heating the whole neighborhood, so I get what @michael_king74 means about cheap fixes paying off. Finally caving and replacing the worst parts was a game changer for my sanity.
