My dog's collar vanished in my own backyard for a full hour

I was out in the yard in Phoenix, just letting him run around. I took his collar off to fix a twisted tag, set it on the patio table, and turned around for maybe ten seconds. When I looked back, it was just gone. We searched everywhere, even under the table and in the grass. It showed up an hour later, right in the middle of the empty table where I first put it. Has anyone else had something disappear and reappear in a spot you already checked?

My cat's favorite toy did that last week. I finally found it in the fridge, of all places.

My cat hid his mouse toy in the oven once. I had to check every weird spot for a week after that, @morgan.adam. Now I just keep his toys in one basket.
