Rant: A parking meter glitch caused me to miss my dentist appointment

I was late for a dentist visit and parked at a meter. I put in quarters, but the screen stayed blank. I added more coins, and nothing changed. The meter next to me worked fine for someone else. I had to risk a ticket because I was out of time. After my appointment, I saw the meter now showed time. It felt like a glitch in reality just for me. Has anyone experienced something similar with machines?

Actually, that sounds like the meter was just super slow, not glitched. Those old ones can take a full minute to update sometimes. I've stood there like an idiot waiting for it too.

True about machines breaking, but man do I ever feel singled out when it happens. I'll stand there feeding a meter like a confused tourist, fully convinced it's judging me personally.

Come on, it's just a parking meter. Missing one appointment isn't the end of the world, stuff like that happens. Machines break sometimes, it's not some personal glitch in the universe. I mean, it's annoying, but not exactly a major crisis.
