Hot take: I thought the 'guest lounge' at my aunt's place was just a fancy name for the spare room with a weird lamp.

I was convinced it was a gimmick until I spent a whole rainy Saturday in there and realized the specific, quiet setup with a dedicated coffee station and no TV actually made me relax in a way my own living room never does, so what's one thing that makes a guest lounge actually work for you?

Figure it's the total lack of my own junk lying around, honestly. My place is a mess of my own stuff, bills on the counter, and a chore I forgot to do. A proper guest room has none of my baggage, literally. It's a blank space where I can't see my own to-do list staring back at me, which is weirdly freeing. That mental break from my own clutter is the whole point for me, even if the lamp is ugly lol.

Yeah, @christopher_ross nailed it, that blank slate vibe is key.
