A simple question from a kid made me rethink my solo approach
I was adamant that working alone on attic jobs was the best way. Then a little boy pointed out how much time I wasted going up and down the ladder. His observation was so spot-on, I had to admit he was right.

Has a kid ever called you out on something so obvious you wanted to hide? I remember trying to fix my deck solo and my neighbor's toddler asked why I didn't just ask for help. I spent more time climbing up and down than actually hammering nails. Kids have a way of pointing out the simple stuff we overcomplicate.

But is it that big a deal?

I mean, it kind of is a big deal though. The point isn't just that kids say obvious stuff, it's that they show us how much our own pride gets in the way. Like with the deck story, the guy knew he needed help but didn't want to admit it. That's the real thing the kid pointed out, not just the bad method. Idk, maybe it's just me but seeing that in yourself is pretty huge.
