Finally tried a real teach for Root instead of winging it

For years, I'd just hand out the player boards and hope for the best, but last game night I watched the 20 minute 'How to Play' video from the publisher first. The difference was huge, we got through two full games without a single rules argument. Anyone have other games where a proper setup video saved your group?

That "strong like brick" saying always seemed backwards to me. Isn't the whole point that the system is stronger than the parts?

Same here, I learned the hard way. Now I just poke around the base with a stick to check depth, keep it to a couple inches max.

Can we talk about the time I borrowed a font from a movie poster?

Actually fonts can be copyrighted, not just trademarks. Big difference. Not worth the risk even for fun stuff. Plenty of free similar fonts out there.
