Had to pick between a flat fee and hourly retainer for a client last month
I went with the flat fee for a 6-month social media campaign and ended up working way more hours than I planned for $3,000. Has anyone else found hourly actually saves you money in the long run?

Oh man, @gray_perez52, your buddy's story hits close to home! A friend of mine took a flat fee to design a local bakery's logo and menu, thought it'd be a quick $1,500 job. She ended up doing 17 revisions because the owner kept changing her mind and wanting things "just a little different." By the end, she'd spent like 40 hours on it, basically making minimum wage. She told me she'd rather do hourly and have the client think twice before asking for another tweak.

Heard a buddy took a flat fee for website work and ended up rebuilding the whole thing for free. He swore off flat fees after that.
