Pro tip: That AI art exhibit at the science center blew my mind
I went to the Tech Interactive museum in San Jose last weekend and they had this whole wing on generative art. A print they made of a city skyline changed textures based on the time of day using a camera feed. Made me wonder if artists are worried about this stuff taking over. Has anyone else seen a live AI demo that actually impressed you?

Artists should be more worried about their own creativity than the tech. All that AI can do is remix what's already out there, it can't actually feel anything or have a real human experience to draw from. The stuff at those exhibits is neat for a minute, but it's just a party trick compared to someone who's spent years learning to paint.

Exactly. "Just a party trick" is the perfect way to put it. I went to one of those AI art shows last month and it was basically a bunch of same-looking landscapes that all had that weird, waxy texture. Sure, it's kind of cool for five seconds, but it's like comparing a kid with a sticker book to someone who actually knows how to draw. All that training and real emotion just can't be faked by a computer stringing together other people's work.
