That time my neighbor talked me out of an expensive AI tool
Last Tuesday my neighbor Dave, who fixes tractors for a living, saw me staring at a 40 minute demo for an AI scheduling app that costs $120 a month. He asked what it did, I told him, and he just said, "So it's a calendar that learns your habits, but you still have to check it." He walked me through his paper ledger system, three columns, and pointed out that my real problem was I kept switching tools instead of sticking with one. It hit different because he had zero skin in the game, no affiliate links, no hype. Has anyone else had a non-tech person simplify an AI decision better than the actual vendors?
