Air fried a whole chicken at 375 for 45 minutes and got raw thighs but perfect breasts - should you cook dark meat separate or just suffer through uneven results?

I followed a popular recipe that said to flip halfway through but my thighs were still pink while the white meat was already dry, so now I'm wondering if anyone else just breaks the bird down before cooking or has a method that actually works for whole air fryer chickens?
