Debate: My friend swore the air fryer salmon needs NO oil at all

He said just toss it in dry at 400F for 8 minutes but mine came out like rubber every time. I tried his method 4 times before I went back to a light spray of avocado oil and now it's flaky perfect - anyone else find a little oil makes a huge difference with fish?

Just toss it in dry at 400F" - that's exactly what my buddy Dave told me about his air fryer chicken wings. He swore no oil, just dry rub. First batch came out like hockey pucks. I found out later he was using a different air fryer model that runs way hotter than mine. Maybe your friend's air fryer is just a liar.

My Ninja runs 50 degrees cold compared to what the dial says. Had to buy a separate oven thermometer just to figure that out.
